Fabrication and Characterization of Si/PEDOT: PSS-Based Heterojunction Solar Cells

In this study, we fabricated a planar Si/PEDOT: PSS heterojunction solar cell using three different solvents—ethylene glycol, acetonitrile, and dimethyl sulfoxide—to find the best one. The samples were characterized by diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, current–voltage. Diffused spectrum analysis showed reduced compared to bare silicon wafers. absorbance shows change in absorption of Si-coated PEDOT: which was more than 50% increase UV region, for EG sample, there 20% entire visible spectrum. This indicates that solvent plays major role bandgap between Si PSS. Scanning microscope (SEM) used examine surface morphology as agglomerated, island-formed surfaces carbon-layered Si-PEDOT: Cross-sectional images show thickness layer on wafer surface. diffraction (XRD) pattern characteristic peaks (69.5°), forbidden (200) peak at 32°. Current–voltage measurements have shown diode curve all cells. indicated presence heterojunction. Ethylene glycol-containing cells current output 0.2 ?A with Voc V.
